This “double dipping” helps to strengthen muscles big time!

Getting Started with Resistance Bands

When first using resistance bands, pick a relatively light one. You can tell how much “resistance” a band has by its color. Start with something like yellow or green, which have less resistance. As you get stronger and more confident, you can try bands with more resistance, like blue or black.

Common Band Exercises

Wondering where to start? Here are a couple of simple and effective exercises you can try:

  • Band Pull Apart: Hold the band with both hands, stretch the band by moving your hands apart, and then return to the start. You’ll feel this in your shoulders and upper back!
  • Banded Squats: Slip the band around your thighs and then do some squats. The band adds extra challenge to your glutes and thighs.
