How to Fit Cardio Into a Crazy Schedule
Finding Time for Cardio in a Jam-Packed Schedule
We get it. Life is busy. Between work, family, and all the other responsibilities you’ve got on your plate, finding time to exercise can feel virtually impossible. But don’t despair! If you’re struggling to squeeze in those all-important cardio sessions, we’ve got some tips to help.
Make a Plan
This may seem like a no-brainer, but having a plan can make a world of difference. Think about your weekly schedule. Where can you slot in some cardio? Maybe it’s a brisk walk on your lunch break or a quick HIIT session after dropping the kids at school. Write it into your schedule like you would any other appointment.
Wake up Earlier
They say the early bird gets the worm, and when it comes to exercise, this is often true. Can you fit in some cardio before your day gets too busy? Even a 20-minute jog or at-home workout can be a great way to start your day.
Reduce Screen Time
Do you find yourself spending a lot of time in front of the TV or scrolling through social media? Try replacing some of that screen time with cardio. It can be as simple as doing some jumping jacks during commercial breaks or dancing around while you scroll through your feed.
Take Advantage of Your Surroundings
You don’t need a gym to get a good cardio workout. Remember, everyday activities can also count as cardio! Things like walking the dog, mowing the lawn or even cleaning the house. So why not turn up the pace and get your heart rate going?
Keep it Interesting
It’s a lot easier to motivate yourself to exercise when you’re doing something you enjoy. If you dread running on the treadmill, try something different, like a dance class, swimming, or cycling. Mixing it up will not only make your cardio sessions more enjoyable but also more effective.
Sure, finding time for cardio when you have a crazy schedule can be challenging. But with a little creativity and a can-do attitude, it’s totally doable. Remember, the secret isn’t finding time—it’s making time.
